Report: Belarus to have ports in Russia’s Baltic Sea coast in 2 years

MINSK, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- Belarus will have its own ports on the Russian coast of the Baltic Sea in two years, Belarusian news agency BelTA reported on Saturday quoting President Alexander Lukashenko.

“The president of Russia and I discussed this issue at our latest meeting, before this conflict. This is about construction of a port venture. … We need our own ports, and sites were chosen very swiftly. These sites are good, I have already received reports on that,” Lukashenko said as quoted by BelTA.

“We will go there this spring or maybe in June. We will look at how construction is going on there. Ports will be built there in two years, and we will handle our cargoes through our ports there.”
